Ichii(Yew)

Model noTWM8200

This fountain pen is made from wood from Gifu Prefecture, where woodworking culture is the most developed in Japan.

The Japanese word for yew, ichii, means “first rank.” It is said that the Emporor once made ceremonial items from Hida yew, and was so pleased with them that he gave the wood the highest rank, sho-ichii. Today, the Hida mountains produce the most yew in Japan, a symbol of success and victory. Enjoy the smooth feel of this resilient wood that was once a favorite of Japan’s aristocracy.
